Welcome to another newsletter from Telos Publishing, and a Merry Christmas to all of you at home.

We are entering the final week of us being able to despatch books in time for Christmas.

The last date for us to receive orders and guarantee that they will be posted at least before Christmas is SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER. We can't guarantee that they will arrive before the Holiday, but anything ordered up to that date will (subject to us still having copies) be posted on the Monday.

Wiped! Doctor Who's Missing Episodes: Second Edition

In the 1960s, the BBC screened 253 episodes of its cult science fiction show Doctor Who, starring William Hartnell and then Patrick Troughton as the time travelling Doctor. Yet by 1975, the Corporation had wiped the master tapes of every single one of these episodes. Yet by 1975, the Corporation had wiped the master tapes of every single one of these episodes. Of the 124 Doctor Who episodes starring Jon Pertwee shown between 1970 and 1974, the BBC destroyed over half of the original transmission tapes within two years of their original broadcast.

In the years that followed, the BBC, along with dedicated fans of the series, began the arduous task of trying to track down copies of as many missing Doctor Who episodes as possible. The search covered BBC sales vaults, foreign television stations, overseas archives, and numerous networks of private film collectors, until the tally of missing programmes was reduced to just 106 episodes.

For the first time, this book looks in detail at how the episodes came to be missing in the first place, and examines how material subsequently came to be returned to the BBC. Along the way, those people involved in the recovery of lost slices of Doctor Who's past tell their stories in candid detail, many for the very first time. SCI FI WEEKENDER

Telos is pleased to be guesting at the annual Sci Fi Weekender event, next year in Pwllelli in North Wales. The cover for the second volume of SONGS FOR EUROPE, Telos' comprehensive guide to the Eurovision Song Contest written by Gordon Roxburgh, and covering the 1970s is now revealed. The first volume (covering the 1950s and 1960s) was met with great acclaim, and we're pleased to be publishing the second volume later in 2013.

Christmas Orders

Here at Telos Towers we're (mostly) human like the rest of you, and we're looking at availability for processing and sending orders as we get closer to Christmas.

It looks like the last date for us to receive orders and guarantee that they will be posted at least before Christmas is SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER. We can't guarantee that they will arrive before the Holiday, but anything ordered up to that date will (subject to us still having copies) be posted on the Monday.

A couple of notes here: we are down to the final hardback copy of THE BARRY NEWBERY SIGNATURE COLLECTION, and the final couple of hardback copies of CRACKS IN TIME. Once they are gone, they are gone. We are also *very* low on stocks of WHOSTROLOGY and we won't get a reprint in until 2013 now. So again, if these titles are on your Christmas Lists, then get in early or you may miss out.
