AVAILABILITY UPDATE

It's always good when our new titles go down well, but this can mean that they sell out far more quickly than anticipated. This has happened to Destination: Moonbase Alpha, and to Silver Scream Volume 2, and both are temporarily unavailable while we wait for the reprints to be completed and delivered.

We should have copies in stock again around the 9th of April, so we ask all customers to be patient, and orders of these will be sent as soon as we get copies back in stock.

SPECIAL OFFER

Thanks to the new advert in the very lovely latest edition of SFX (the one with the incredible 3D lenticular cover) we have now sold out of two of the paperback editions of our Guides to Doctor Who.

So that people coming to the site hoping to get hold of them aren't too upset, we have decided, while stocks last, to reduce the price of the hardback editions of the first three Guides in the series.

So for the time being, Back to the Vortex, Second Flight and Third Dimension all have their limited edition, signed and numbered hardbacks at a mere 15 pounds each. So if you were wanting to pick up copies, now is the time, before postage rises in April, and while we still have
copies available.

To order, visit www.telos.co.uk as follows:

FINALIST FOR BOOK OF THE YEAR

We're delighted to report that It Lives Again!, Axelle Carolyn's guide to modern horror films, which Telos published last year, has been selected as one of the Finalists in the Performing Arts Category in ForeWord Magazine's Book Of The Year Awards.

The Awards are described in the Press Release thus:

"The finalists, representing 360 publishers, were selected from 1,400 entries in 60 categories. These books are examples of independent publishing at its best. The winners will be determined by a panel of librarians and booksellers selected from our readership. Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners, as well as Editor's Choice Prizes for Fiction and Nonfiction will be announced at a special program at BookExpo America in New York City on May 25. The winners of the two Editor's Choice Prizes will be awarded $1,500 each. ForeWord's Book of the Year Awards program was designed to discover distinctive books from independent publishers across a number of genres. The Awards program often serves to provide these worthy projects with a second wind of publicity."

The other finalists can be seen on ForeWord's site here:

BOOK ARRIVALS

We have just taken delivery of two more titles.

First off is the simply gorgeous full colour artbook by Vincent Chong, Altered Visions. This is being publishing in limited numbers for the World Horror Convention in Brighton at the end of March.

Second is Silver Scream Volume 2, another slice of black and white (and some colour) horror from 1941 to 1951 by Steven Warren Hill. The book is profusely illustrated with black and white pictures, and contains extensive original biographical notes on just about everyone involved in the films discussed.

Pre-order copies will be despatched over the coming week. Note that Altered Visions and Simon Clark's new chiller Humpty's Bones won't be despatched until after the World Horror Convention, as both Simon and Vincent will be signing copies at that event.

PRICE INCREASES

It's never nice to have to increase prices, but unfortunately Telos is at the whim of paper manufacturers and book printers and also the British Post Office for shipping costs, and over the last year or so, despite the apparent recession, prices have been slowly creeping up. We have managed to retain prices at more or less the same level for the last couple of years, but we can't do this any longer. Therefore we have little choice but to follow suit to ensure that our titles remain practical for us to publish at all.

Some of the currently available titles will increase their prices as and when we sell out of current stocks and go to reprints, and there will be a general rise in the postage rates come April, which is when the Post Office will be increasing all their prices again. Some of our forthcoming titles will also have to increase in price to take account of the current printing costs, but if you have pre-ordered, as usual we will always honour your orders at the price you originally paid, regardless of what the rrp of the books end up being.

So get in quick if you want to take advantage of current postage prices!
