WIPED ARRIVES
We have today taken delivery of finished copies of Richard Molesworth's guide to Doctor Who's missing episodes, Wiped! It is a fantastic brick of a book and we're very pleased with how it has come out. Copies should be with our distributors today as well, so Amazon and everyone should start to get them next week. We're also mailing all the pre-orders to everyone next week ... just as soon as we can get them all packed and down to the Post Office, so if you've been waiting on tenterhooks for the title ... not much longer to wait. TELOS PUBLISHING NEWSLETTER - 01 October
Welcome to another edition of the Telos Publishing Newsletter. This month we have news of some new audios in Fantom Films' series, and also some new title updates. RELEASE UPDATES The good news is that End of Ten is now available in both paperback and hardback editions. We're especially pleased with the hardback - it's a gorgeous edition adorned with exclusive artwork by the very talented Iain Robertson. Hopefully those who get this edition will appreciate the care and attention lavished on it. Wiped has also just gone off to print - so we're expecting finished copies around the end of October on that, but as usual we will be sending them out to everyone who has preordered as soon as we get them in stock. It's a great looking book, 480 pages packed with everything you could possibly want to know about Doctor Who's missing episodes, their recovery and restoration. *** MORE TIME HUNTER AUDIOS We're delighted to report that our friends at Fantom Films have two more audio readings of the next two Time Hunter novellas available: The Clockwork Woman (written by Claire Bott and read by Tracey Childs) sees Honore and Emily imprisoned in the 19th Century by a celebrated inventor … but help comes from an unexpected source – a humanoid automaton created by, and to give pleasure to, its owner. While Kitsune (written by John Paul Catton and read by Terry Molloy) sees Honore and Emily Blandish thrown into mystery as an ice spirit wreaks havoc during Kyoto's Gion Festival ... The Severed Man written by George Mann and read by Terry Molloy is still available at the special pre-order price of £11.99 and will be released in November. There's also a treat for Fantom Films customers as they have the first edition of a PDF Magazine available for download, which contains, among other things, an excellent overview and introduction to the Time Hunter range. It can be downloaded from here: http://www.fantomfilms.co.uk/fantommag1.pdf All the Fantom Films Time Hunter audios can be ordered from http://www.fantomfilms.co.uk/audiobooks/audiobooks.htm *** MORE NEW TITLES We're pleased to announce that Telos will be publishing new paperback editions of two more of Mike Ripley's popular 'Angel' series of crime novels. Angel City and Angel Confidential should be available early next year. The novels chart the adventures of Fitzroy Maclean Angel, a character who gets by partly through gigging as a jazz trumpet player, partly through taking illegal fares in his de-registered black taxi cab, and partly through … well, just being in the right place at the right time. And, as he often says himself, it’s better to be lucky than good. In Angel City, down on his luck and broke, Angel is forced to get two jobs - and one is definitely dodgy. He is drawn into a series of underworlds, from the twilight world of London's homeless to that of role-playing fantasies, where the monsters suddenly become real and the games aren't so funny any more. Angel Confidential is a case involving a dubious religious cult, an impoverished minor aristocrat with a love of classic cars, a very shady solicitor and his extremely odd wife. Also, work has started on the next of Telos' acclaimed guides to Doctor Who with an as yet untitled volume covering Mat Smith's first season as the Doctor. This will also be published next year, and should cover the series, plus the Christmas Special, along with the Proms, Doctor Who Live and whatever else the production team sends our way before the end of this year. We'd welcome suggestions for the title for this volume. To remind you, we have used already: Back to the Vortex, Second Flight, Third Dimension, Monsters Within and End of Ten. Who knows, if you come up with something we like, then we may even use it on the book! Posted by David @ 10:26 am |
